Day 342

Ok I love my pink feathered tree. And now I love it even more. It is now my Twilight tree. I hope to add more ornaments as I find them. If you find any twilight ornaments let me know. The snowman next to my tree is a speaker for my ipod. That stays up all yr long.

Day 341

Its rained most of the day today. The weather man had said there was a slim chance it might snow, but it didn't. Only up in the mountains. So I stayed snuggled up in my bed all day except when it was time to pick up the boys and caught up on my tivo shows. heres just a couple of my nutcrackers that I put up along the stairs.

Jeff Andretti and Dominic


Oh boy its bone chilling cold today. We took Dominic out to the Speedway to do this defensive drivers course with a group called Driversedge.org. I highly recommend it to all parents with Teen drivers. And its FREE! They only ask for a donation if you can help out. They travel all over the United States. Check out their website to see if they come to your neighborhood. It teaches the kids how to control the car if you start to spin out in water, shows you how to avoid something in your path, braking and so much more. All instructors are some way involved in the racing industry. One of Dominic's instructors was Jeff Andretti. Youngest son of Mario Andretti. Ladies there are some pretty Hot instructors so bring your cameras. LOL Don't tell Robert I said that. If you look closely in the picture with the greenish/blue car you can see that Dominic took out some cones. lol

Day 339

It was the Las Vegas Annual Santa Run today. They moved it from Downtown to Town Square. It was freezing this yr. We couldn't find all of the Santa Suits, so only Dominic and Brandon ran the 5K. Kurt Bush was the MC this yr. They estimated that 8,000 people signed up to run. Dominic came in the top 10 and Brandon was in the top 15 of the runners. Im sad that I didn't get to run, but there is always next yr. Well next yr my goal is to run the 1/2 marathon the day after the Santa Run.

Day 338

Well today didn't start off that great. Took the boys to school and then Robert comes running up to tell me the water heaters are leaking. So great. I had to jump in the shower before we are without Hot water. I really hope it gets fixed today, but that's probably not realistic since he HAS to work and I don't have a clue how to fix it. But on a much brighter note, I get a phone call from one of Austin's teachers. Im thinking ok what is going on is he ok, sick or something else. Well she said she just wanted to call to tell me how AWESOME, SPECIAL and ALL AROUND GREAT STUDENT/KID He is. She said he is one of the best students she has ever had and that I must be doing something right. :). Now I have to tell you I was just talking to Christopher about how big of a heart Austin has and that he is such a good kid. I could not have timed that call more perfectly.

Day 337

We have for the past few yrs put our stocking on the stair railings. Since there are so many of us they would not fit on our tiny fireplace mantle. I like how it looks this way better. I made most of the boys stockings. I still need to make new ones for me and Robert. I made ours when we first got together in 1988.

Day 336

This is our downstairs tree. My mom is in charge of decorating it. So this yr she went with Red and Gold with pine cones. Sometimes its blue with snowmen. I think it looks really pretty.

Birthday boy got to have his Sushi :)

17 year ago today I gave birth to a Handsome, talented, funny, smart, athletic, sweet, great hair, and he would say Sexy young man. Dominic is 17 today and I could not be more proud of the young man he has turned out to be. Dominic you are super special to me and I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!

Day 334

Last yr I went to Walmart and picked up 2 Christmas trees a couple weeks after Christmas. One was 6 feet and the other 3 ft. I think I paid $4. for the bigger one and $2.50 for the other one. Well I put the 6 foot one up on my stairs and added some of my snowmen ornaments on it. I think it looks pretty cool on the landing. Now to see what kinds of goodies I will (hopefully) get to find after Christmas.

Day 333

We are almost done decorating just a few more boxes and I think we will be set. Well except for the boxes we can't seem to find. They must not have been marked correctly when they got put away last yr. :( I am going to take pics of our decor and post one part of our house each day. This will make it easy for my POTD for the next 32 days left of the yr. I hope you don't mind seeing all of our decorations. (Santa greets you at the front door)

Day 332

This is the boys around the time we made the wreath. best I could do for now. A lot of the pics are in storage.

So now that the decorations are going up. Slowly I might add. I thought I'd take a little trip down memory lane. This is one of my all time favorite things I put up each yr. We made this back in 1999. I traced each of the boys hands and cut them out of fun foam and made a wreath. Its amazing to see how small their hands were 10 yrs ago. Austin was 3, Brandon 4, Dominic 7 and Christopher 10. I'm so glad I wrote on the back the date and their ages.

Day 331

It's going to start looking a lot like Christmas around here. I was able to get Robert and the boys to go to storage and get our boxes of Christmas stuff. I will start decorating tomorrow.
No Black Friday shopping for me. first time in about 15 yrs. I hope all that got to go, had a fun time and were able to get all that you set out to get.

Day 330

I am very Thankful for my Family. I love them dearly. Each one of the boys brings so much joy into my life. I can't believe there was a time I did not want kids let a lone have boys. I have been blessed with 4 of the best Kids ever. Im thankful for Robert. He's been a great dad and husband. Im thankful my mom is still here to celebrate another Thanksgiving day. Im thankful for all my dear friends.
I am thankful that we have friends we call family. We've know Debbie, Sarah, Steph, Marilyn and Brian for 18 yrs now. The share our table every Thanksgiving. Im thankful that I have met some really nice people while doing my blog.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Took the boys to the park where they raced in the Catch the Gobbler 5k. They did pretty good. Dominic came in 13 over all out of 493 and 8th in his age division. Brandon came in 4th for his age division and 38 overall. A lot of the boys from the XC team showed up. It was kind of cool. I plan on doing this next yr. My POTD will come later when family and friends get here. But for now its a couple of pics of the boys from earlier today.

If you follow Bridget’s blog you know that I am blessed beyond measure.
Of course the center of my world is our family……………………..and I’m thankful!
During these tough economic times all of us are suffering and our family has not been immune from hardship, but I still have a job…………………and I’m thankful!
Worry about health has also touched our family directly, but my father and Bridget’s mom are both still with us…………………………………and I’m thankful!
All of our hearts stopped when we thought Bandit was lost for ever, but he was found……………………………………………………………………and I’m thankful!
But most of all I have Bridget in my life……………………………..and I’m thankful!

Day 328

I asked my mom today what she was thankful for and she said......I am thankful for a second chance at life. It has been a long hard 3 1/2 months, but I have not picked up a cigarette. I take each day as it comes. I still get the urge to smoke after each meal, but I have compensated for it by baking and baking and baking. I only have to use these 2 things only when it gets bad.

Day 327

OK so the boys were mostly having fun with their posts on being Thankful for..... Kind of a friendly competition between them to see who would get the most posts. LOL (Brandon is sad that he only got 2 post) :(

Today is Monday night Football and I'm not really sure who is even playing tonight, because my team, The Raiders, played yesterday and actually won. Can you believe that? Anyway my POTD is of a giant football that me and my mom saw at Sam's club one day about a week ago. I thought it was fitting for today.

Im thankful that we have enough room to have all of Austin's Demo team over for breakfast before Demo team practice. We made 5 dozen eggs, had tons of pancakes, bacon and some potatoes.

Today I turned the camera over to Austin and asked him to take a picture of what he is thankful for. Here is what he had to say about his picture....I am extremely thankful for my amazing skills in Taekwondo and with the cool weapons. using my skills I know I can protect my self if I have to. Im glad we have been able to give him this opportunity. This is the first thing he has ever stuck too.

Day 322

I was watching the news and I was surprised to see that I was caught on Fox5 news who was out filming the Premier. LOL So I had to take a screen shot and post it. :)



I just got back from the New Moon Premier. You would have thought that the President of the United States was going to be there with all the security they had to make sure you did not take pics or video. We had to check our phones and cameras. I got a couple pics before having to check my camera. The Movie was really good, the guys were really HOT! and Kirstin Stewart aka Bella still sucks! They had some look alikes walking around. Took pics with them. Oh and I won 2 more tickets so we are going again Friday morning to see it again.

Day 321

Im thankful for a nice hot cup of Starbucks white chocolate mocha. I've been dragging all day, well really for a couple of weeks now and I just had to have me a cup today. I also picked up one for my mom, the pumpkin spice. She didn't care for it, so she gave it to Brandon. My favorite is the Carmel frappuccino but its time for the hot ones. :)

Day 320

Ok so maybe this isn't the best thing to be thankful for, but I LOVE my Tivo. I love that it will tape 2 shows at once. I only wish it could tape more. LOL That's pretty pathetic, but if ABC, CBS & NBC would stop putting all the good shows on the same days and at the same times it would make it easier to manage our TV viewing.

Day 319

Robert, Brandon, Austin and I went to the Nellis Air Force base to watch Aviation Nation, the air show. It was awesome. It was a beautiful day, but very cold and windy. None of us wore a jacket except Robert. The Thunderbirds were amazing. I can't wait until we go back next yr. It's nice that they open it up to the public and its FREE! I will be putting more than one picture today, but only one will make it into my album.

Day 318

Today Carol and I went to donate blood for New Moon Premier tickets. We were #'s 24-25. They told us that the first 20 were the ones that will get the tickets. Well we didn't drive all that way for nothing, so we hung around until we were told we would get tickets. So I go in to give blood, while in there, my name is called outside in a raffle from the radio station to win a pair of tickets, they said I couldnt get them since I was going to get them inside. Then Carol is called. She ended up with the last pair of tickets. I didn't get any because my guy took longer to take all my info. they ran out :(
Today I am Thankful for Carol getting the last pair of tickets so we can go to the movie. The lady at United blood services is going to send me a pair of movie tickets next week to use at a later date.

Day 317

I love the colors of Fall. Here is a cute scarecrow. He will hang around for about another week or so and then he will go back into hibernation until next yr.

Day 316

Today I am thankful for our dog Bandit and the boys finding him. Somehow during the day he got out of the house without his tags on. We gave him a bath yesterday and didn't put them back on. I drove around the neighborhood looking for him until it was time to get the boys to the orthodontist. Christopher, Dominic and my mom continued to look for him. Christopher spotted the Animal control truck and asked if he picked up a black and white dog and he said no just a black and grey one. Then the guy asked him to describe what kind of dog it was, well Bandit is a mini shelty/lasapso mixture. The guy said nope it was a terrier. Good thing Christopher asked to see the dog, otherwise Bandit would have been carted off to who knows where. So after over an hr of looking for Bandit, he was brought back home where he hid under his favorite chair because he knew he had been bad. We are just glad he's back home.
