Day 99

inside the MTV store

I didn't realize the ball stays up all yr long.

wanted to take the subway, but was scared I'd get lost.

I want to see Wicked. Heard its amazing.

Don't watch Letterman, but liked the sign ; )

Building on Ellis Island

Today was Statue of Liberty day. We spent a couple of hrs between Lady Liberty and Ellis Island. We toured the NBC studios, but were not allowed to take any pics. We did get to see Zach Effron who was rehearsing for his hosting Duties on SNL. Walked Time Square, saw the Naked Cowboy and did very little shopping. By this time my feet are aching so bad. After 5 days of mostly walking and at a fast pace to boot, my feet were giving out. I couldn't wait to get back on the bus and get into bed knowing tomorrow was going to be our last day.

Day 98

Where they put the big tree at Christmas.

Its been so cold they still have the ice rink up.

Ground Zero

Yoko still owns 8 Apartments. They are the ones with the Shudders.

The Dakota where John Lennon lived and died.

boys wanted to go into the Arms and Armor part of the museum

Amsterdam Theatre where we say Mary Poppins.

This morning we got up and drove to Central Park, it started to snow. How cool is that. While there we stopped at the Dakota, where John Lennon lived and died. Saw strawberry fields. Dominic is a big Beatles fan. So this was a added bonus for him. From there we went down to St. Pauls Church. This church is right behind/front of where the Twin Towers fell. Amazingly nothing was damaged other than a tree. Another one has now been planted in its spot. Very touching Memorial inside. We then went to Ground Zero. Construction has already started on the new Freedom Tower. We spent a couple of hours in Rockefeller Plaza before going to the Metropolitan Art Museum. From there it was dinner and off to see Mary Poppins. What a great show to see for our first Broadway Play.

Day 91

So today someone on the message board posted a picture of the thingy you put into the center of a 45. Some of you are probably saying what is a 45. Well it is like a larger CD that we used to play on a record player. Well I kept my 45's and some of my albums. I gave them to my kids. Dominic got a record player for his birthday. I have been noticing that a lot of artist are putting music back on vinyl. So my POTD brings back lots of memories.
